From the Resene News – issue 4/2006 In control - Wigram air base control tower
Following their purchase of the land and building, Ngai Tahu are working through a development programme. Commencing with the control tower exterior, cementitious substrates were finished in Resene Sonyx 101 semi-gloss acrylic on the main body work and steel windows were prepared and painted with Resene Rust Arrest, Resene Enamel Undercoat and Resene Super Gloss. The colour scheme drawn from The Range series fandecks of Resene Caraway (grainy beige), Resene Stonewall (deep beige neutral) and Resene Quarter Thorndon Cream (sharp cream) was developed using the Resene RenderRite colour rendering and visualisation service. An image of the original building was scanned and recoloured to multiple colour scheme options, allowing the final scheme to be easily visualised and selected from A4 colour prints.

The Control Tower has had its heyday and now acts as ground control
for the many tenants that inhabit its interior.
