Nationwide branding standards are the joy of some and the curse of others.
While they impose standards on all outlets they can be difficult to
adhere to if the materials specified do not live up to the required
standard. The Australian Matilda Service Station national chain experienced
this difficulty trying to maintain its national palette of red, yellow
and aqua, all colours prone to poor coverage and, even worse, fading
when exposed to UV light. To exacerbate the situation a high gloss finish
was desired but seldom delivered.
The solution was easy - two coats of Resene Hi-Glo high gloss acrylic
tinted to Resene Bright Red, Resene Turbo and Resene Emerald Green over
