'The textured art expresses the universal landscape of the spiral.' The spirals that Annette paints appear in many traditions throughout the world. They can represent cycles in nature, the flow of life, and in some practices even the wheel of fortune.

The whole world is covered in pattern that is not always obvious to the casual observer. Sometimes these patterns are stark and dramatic, sometimes they're delicate and subtle, but they are always there, and it is this illusion of colour, pattern and texture that is portrayed within Annette’s work.

The impact and imagery of the  textured artwork can vary with the time of day. In the morning light you'll notice the color and texture, but at night, in subdued lighting, you'll suddenly notice the work sparkle to life with reflective spots of light, that can rival the stars in heaven!

Surfers Paradise is Annette’s source of colour inspiration - explosions of colour, spiritual calm and tranquility. An extensive array of Resene colours from the Resene Total Colour System are cleverly combined to create each illusionary work.
