Jo invented the photographic process she uses in 2004 through study of photography with a focus on commercial and alternative photography, enjoying a faultless 100% grading when she produced her painted canvas hand developed photos for an assignment. As the only artist producing this type of work and in recognition of an abundant amount of research and great application of kiwi ingenuity, Jo has applied for a patent of the process. Resene is part of Jo's artist toolbox and is used in numerous techniques to create Jo's unique works. The true starving artist, much of Jo's work is created using Resene mistints, the one off nature of the colours giving an added individuality to the works. The large wooden frames are handmade by Jo offering a complete package ready to hang. A love of colour and expression within landscapes sees Jo's work often classified as impressionist painting. Full of fresh ideas, boundless energy, extensive studies and with a self-developed technique Jo works hard on her craft to offer a fresh art style. Artist: Joanne Thomas |
