Energetic art
Works are created using Resene Enamacryl waterborne gloss enamel providing an outlet of bold colour and lustreStand back and view works by Kathie Watson - her exhibition 'Answering Hanly in a BIG way' is a pure expression of her response to him as an artist, silent mentor and guide. While she never knew Hanly personally, she responded to his art in a way that makes one wonder if they had crossed paths somewhere.

Clearly Watson's work shows the influence of Hanly, with her 'poured chance' of trickles of enamel paint. Like Hanly, Watson is in a 'high energy' period.

At 72 one would think that an armchair would be more suited to someone of this age, not 'high energy. Like Hanly, she defies her age, health and critics and paints so cleverly, tricking the eye into believing that we have a young artist at work. She is no stranger to the art world - her work features in galleries and collectors' homes. There is no lasting pessimism in Watson. Her paints swim and swirl. She offers love, admiration and a glorious sense of euphoria. Behind it all is great craft and a brilliant, truly inspired, technique.

Works are created using Resene Enamacryl waterborne gloss enamel providing an outlet of bold colour and lustre perfectly matched to the 'high energy' nature of the work.
