Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 04

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Heavy wrapping paper in the following colours: black, white, purple, blue foil, red, or get brown paper and paint a background colour yourself, Old fork, Paintbrushes, Purple tinsel strands, Red foil present bag, Resene Art Action Clear Gloss, Resene Art Action paints in the following colours: Resene Light Green, Resene Scotty Silver (Metallic), Resene Warm Yellow and Resene White, Small apple, Small cylindrical object (cotton reel or old photo film case), Small pot of silver glitter, Small wedges of wood

Top tip: Always let the wrapping paper dry thoroughly (preferably overnight) before using.

Here's another idea: Create a fun festive look by painting silver glitter onto dark blue paper and finish off with a silver ribbon and bow.

Step 1

Paint wavy lines on black paper using Resene Scotty Silver.
Step 2
Step two
Mix silver glitter with some Resene Art Action Clear Gloss and then paint onto a red foil present bag.
Step 3

Cut a small apple in half and insert the fork to make a handle, then print a Resene Light Green pattern onto white paper, as shown.

Use a small wedge of wood to print a Resene Warm Yellow star pattern onto purple paper.
Step 5

Use the previous technique to print Resene White daisy petals onto blue foil. Once it’s dried overprint a Resene Warm Yellow centre using a cylindrical object (we used an old photo film case).

Stick purple tinsel strands to red wrapping paper with Resene Art Action Clear Gloss.
