Terracotta pot

Transform a plain terracotta pot into a vibrant planter with a little bit of help from Resene.

Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 83

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Potted colour (we used Osteospermum), Good quality potting mix, Paintbrush, Resene Clearcoat UVS, Resene Terracotta Sealer, Resene testpots of Resene Adrenalin and Resene Point Break, Small trowel, Terracotta pot

To get the look: Mark stained the garden table with Resene Woodsman tinted to Resene Canopy.

Other ideas: For a vibrant red and green combination, use Resene Get Reddy and Resene Lickety Split.

Step 1
Step one
Apply one coat of Resene Terracotta Sealer to the inside and outside of the terracotta pot and allow to dry.
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Adrenalin to the pot, as shown, and allow two hours to dry.
Step 3
Step three
Apply a second coat of Resene Adrenalin and allow two hours to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Apply one coat of Resene Point Break to the upper rim of the pot, as shown, and allow two hours to dry.
Step 5
Step five
Apply a second coat of Resene Point Break and allow two hours to dry.
Step 6
Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Clearcoat UVS to the pot and allow to dry.
Step 7
Step seven
Fill three quarters of the pot with good quality potting mix.
Step 8
Step eight
Plant the potted colour into the potting mix and firm down.
