Resene Total Colour Solvent Pastes for industrial coatings - high shear incorporation

Solvent Pastes (SPs) are a range of pigments dispersed into dispersant/dispersing resin/solvent systems designed for use in a wide variety of solventborne protective coatings. Each system is optimised to the surface demands of each pigment. SPs are volumetrically calibrated.

Systems in which SPs have been successfully used include: epoxy polyamine, polyamide and carboxy systems, polyester urethane, acrylic urethane, moisture cured urethane, aspartic ester urethanes, long medium and short oil alkyds, oxazolidone urethane, NC lacquers, acid catalysed alkyds, solventborne acrylics and vinyls, chlorinated rubber and chlorinated polyolefins.

As these solvent pastes are mainly designed for heavy duty, high build and high solid coatings, we recommend high shear incorporation for optimum performance.

While SPs have been designed to achieve the broadest degree of compatibility, idiosyncrasies within any formulation can affect compatibility. We have long experience in recognising the causes of such problems and are able to help formulate around any issues that may arise.

The dispersing resins used are durable and inert, and generally will not detract from the paint properties. However, at use levels of greater than 10% by volume or in critical systems, solvent / chemical resistance testing would be appropriate.

Colour formulation data bases established with SPs can also be utilized with other Resene Total Colour Pastes.

Resene Total Colour Solvent Pastes for Industrial Coatings - Low shear incorporation

Resene Total Colour Solvent Pastes for Industrial Coatings- low shear incorporation are a range of pigments dispersed into dispersant/dispersing resin/solvent. The dispersing resins used are inert and generally will not detract from the paint properties. At levels greater than 10% by volume or in critical systems, solvent/chemical resistance testing of the tinted colour is recommended.

Each system has been optimised to the surface demands of each pigment, while Resene Solvent Pastes low shear incorporation have been developed to achieve the broadest possible degree of compatibility as formulation components can affect compatibility, which must be tested for each system.

Systems in which Resene Solvent Pastes low shear incorporation have been successfully used include epoxy polyamine, polyamide, carboxy, polyester urethane, acrylic polyurethane, moisture cured polyurethane, aspartic ester urethane, alkyds of varying oil length, oxazolidone urethane, NC lacquers, acid catalysed alkyds, solventborne acrylics and vinyls, chlorinated rubber and chlorinated polyolefins.
