Busy mum Chris Whitaker looks forward to washing days now in this vibrant
laundry that's one of her favourite rooms. Chris has $500 worth of Resene
paint vouchers for her colourful cleverness.
The rich tones of Resene Hawaiian Tan and Resene Deep Koamaru inspired Chris Whitaker's new-look laundry in her home near Otaki Beach. The two colours delivered the perfect antidote to the previously dull pastel-coloured laundry and inspired the mosaic tiled floor.
For the painting, Chris copied a Jennifer Pudney cross-stitch design and painted it onto her homemade calico canvas using Resene testpots.
Two of her five children, Luke (14) and Jed (7) built the beach hut cupboards, using Resene Niagara and Resene Jordy Blue, Resene Salomie and Resene Rose Bud Cherry, and Resene Salomie and Resene Crusta.
Says Christine, "The room was just a dumping ground, but after coming in here first thing, it gets me in just the right mood for the rest of the day."
