A complete novice to painting and with a strict budget in mind, Denise managed to create a restful lilac room for her baby girl. The cream bedroom was painted in Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen waterborne enamel tinted to Resene Fog complemented by furniture painted in Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen waterborne enamel white.

No refurbished room is complete without curtains, so with a bit of clever shopping, Denise bought curtain sheers for less than 20% their normal price ($30 per metre instead of $160 per metre from AB Fabrics in Newmarket) and made curtains and cushions to match the soft lilac backdrop.

The change from all cream to tones of lilac and white, including the painting, furniture and curtains, took just a fortnight.
