| True blue Keen to maximise the space, the separate bathroom and toilet became one single room. Installing a tri-bathtub in the corner and shower heads above it opened up the room even further. Ah, the luxury of space! Aiming for a fresh blue finish, Resene Azure was used on the ceiling and three walls, with Resene Jacksons Purple on the feature wall with mirror and basin. The blue is beautifully matched by terracotta tiles on the floor extending to just above basin height on the basin wall. Lorna says she loves the colour combination of Resene Jacksons Purple, Azure and terracotta tiles. The well placed heated chrome towel rail helps keep the room warm and towels dry. The plasterer responsible for moulding the two rooms into one suggested an acrylic finish in the bathroom, a suggestion that Lorna was keen to follow knowing that it is so much easier to paint an acrylic. Using a waterborne enamel (an acrylic paint that has the durability and toughness of an enamel), Lorna has found the paint finish easy to keep clean and dry. The complete bathroom renovation, including the merging of the two rooms took less than a month to complete. Lorna says "Resene Jacksons Purple is a funky and fresh blue more than purple. It sits well with Terracotta tiles. We love colour so much it is also a feature colour in our master bedroom, plus we have used Resene Pizza in a bedroom, Resene Red Stage in our lounge and Curious Blue in a second bedroom." Next on the list for Lorna is the kitchen - she just has to find the right colours first!
