Teamwork is the name of the game for Di, Annette and Jean, three
keen DIY'ers whom have purchased a shell of a house in Twizel
and are busy furnishing it themselves. Describing themselves as
middle-aged to elderly, age is no barrier for these ladies. Determined
to get in and do the work themselves, the first room they have
completed is the bathroom.
Deciding on Resene Super Gloss enamel tinted to Resene Milano
Red on the ceiling and two walls joined by white on remaining
areas early on, the painting took two weekends to finish. The
bold red and white scheme looks brilliant against the white ceiling
downlights, the homemade white towel storage and the perfectly
matched red and white towels.
Relatively new to DIY, the trio found painting easy. In fact,
the Resene Super Gloss enamel went on so well with a roller they
were tempted to just do a single coat, although they did do the
recommended second coat to ensure they got the best look.
With the bathroom under their belts, they have since finished
two bedrooms that are also bold in colour. Di, Annette and Jean
"reckon people stick to safe colours like Spanish White and
Double Spanish White too much. Come on, be BOLD!"
