Colour explosion
The Millers started their redecoration project with a visit from Wellington Colour Consultant Jackie Tutt. Living in the house for 25 years and being a fairly conservative couple, Jackie took them on a colour explosion. At times Simon Hendriks, the painter, had his doubts but there is no doubting the completed house. Resene colours everywhere and Margaret and Ross just love the 1926 bungalow look.

The yellow exterior took three goes at colour matching to get it perfect. Perseverance from all four parties and not one moment of disagreement resulted in the final perfect colour. Resene were professional throughout this ordeal and lived up to their advertising about matching colours.

Three greys - Resene Abbey, Resene Regent Grey and Resene Gull Grey along with 'Millers Yellow' are on the exterior of the house. The roof, which was not originally in the plan, is about to be painted in Resene Abbey.

Inside the colours are stunning with all walls in the dining room finished in bold Resene Bright Red, a predominantly Resene Geyser hallway with Resene Gunsmoke doors, Resene Geyser kitchen and Resene Bright Red archway into the dining room.

Resene Gunsmoke is carried into the laundry, while the lounge walls, woodwork, beautiful plaster ceilings and glass doors are all Resene Half Hint of Grey. The master bedroom fits with the Hint of Grey theme with a Resene Half Hint of Grey on three walls with a Resene Meteorite feature wall.

The curtains, roman blinds and new oil painting all complement the Resene colours.

And Margaret's final thought? "It's an exciting house to live in, everywhere has its own atmosphere and is quite different by day and night. We love it!".
