Kathryn wanted purple. A close family friend knowing her taste found her the perfect frieze, all butterflies and fairies. With the frieze in hand Juliette and Kathryn went off to Resene to find the purples finally selecting Resene Studio and Resene Perfume. The duvets were an important buy as they had to tie in, purple with gold and emerald butterflies on one side, shocking pink with purple and gold hearts on the other side. Next was the curtain material - shocking pink and white stripes with purple hearts. Kathryn wanted her bed on the diagonal, Juliette wanted it straight against the wall - Juliette lost and the bed is now placed on the diagonal. The bed looks like a haven with the mosquito net adorned with butterflies over it. Juliette made a wreath of stuffed toys to hang in the corner for storage and looks, then dyed the cushion off an old cane couch purple, giving Kathryn a great place to relax and listen to music. Shelving was added in the form of four nail boxes covered with material and two planks of recycled Rimu. Being an arty family, a chintz covered pinex bulletin board was a must. The best find of all was the disco ball on Kathryn's windowsill. It catches the morning sun sending out an array of snowflakes all over her room making it look like the Snow Queen's palace.
