something vibrant and fun for her 20 month old son Jonty's room,
Sonia selected colours to fit with a cartoon alien border she
had bought previously.
Resene Drover now features on the top half of the walls, combined
with Resene Well Read, a lovely deep red, on the bottom. The duvet
cover is from Spotlight - it has a space rocket on it and looks
great on the car bed that was a lucky find from the Trade and
Exchange. The bed made the transition from cot to bed effortless.
Resene Magnetic Magic has been painted onto two walls, amusing
Jonty and his older sister Kennedy (6) for hours. The Resene Magnetic
Magic is also on the upper half of the walls - although the kids
can't reach that high it's a great place to display artworks without
messy bluetack or pins.
The complete makeover cost $755 - paint $300, duvet $85, border
$90, bed $280 and an already owned bookshelf cut down to half
the size to fit.
This was Sonia's first painting project and husband Jon wanted
nothing to do with it - his reasoning was if something went wrong
he couldn't be blamed. Now he is the first to show visitors Jonty's
room! Both children love the room and getting Jonty settled in
his room to go to sleep is never a problem.
