The Horsnell family have carefully added colour to their dream home,
a combination of 1960's with a modern architectural extension, located
on the Manukau Harbour with 180° views. The previous owners had
used vibrant bright colours, which didn't sit well with their own tastes,
so they toned them down to a more relaxed and neutral feel by using
luxurious colours that reflect the environment. In the lounge area,
with stunning sea views and plentiful light, they selected deep and
luxurious colours combining Resene Napa with features of Resene Felix.
Accents of chilli link the lounge to other living areas.

The living area was neutralised with Resene Tea before being warmed
with a feature of Resene Venetian Red, which also blended in well with
existing furniture.

The transformation continued with a 'pink paradise'
in their baby girl's room by combining Resene Tutu with Resene Hopbush
and handmade artworks created using Resene testpots. The effect is a
warm room, very feminine, without being overpowering.

Their son's room is now brightly lime, finished in Resene Tea and Resene
Limeade combined with Resene Resolution Blue accents on shelves and
artwork. The colour combination is designed to stand the test of time
as their son grows.
