Extended living
The Thorby house renovation project took a year to complete. With a lot of the owners' input into the construction, it was very time consuming for the whole family.

The dining area has been extended by three metres as has the lounge, with an internal open window hole between the two areas. An existing office space has been enlarged and converted into a bedroom. The result is a large open plan living area incorporating kitchen, dining and lounge areas but segregated to allow space for everyone and provide a fourth bedroom.

With the building work complete, painting was the next major job on the list. The doors and ceilings have all been painted with Resene Quarter Marzipan. In the living room the walls are Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Marzipan with fresh Resene Lusta-Glo semi-gloss white on trims. The curtaining from Spotlight along with leadlight light shades and timber furniture results in an attractive room.

The bedroom has three walls of Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Havelock Blue with the fourth wall finished in Resene Pohutukawa, a rich spicy red, to add extra depth.
