Blast off
Moving into a new home with an exterior finished in light grey, their son's room, the darkest, smallest and least interesting of all the bedrooms, cried out for attention. They selected Resene Mariner, hoping that it wouldn't be too dark or cold, and were pleasantly surprised by how much they loved it once it was on the walls. It was the perfect background for a space theme that had been planned for some time.

The space wallhangings were made from thin sheets of MDF and painted in a small palette of bright Resene colours. An unpainted dresser was purchased and painted in matching colours, down to stars on the drawer knobs. A new huge mirror improves the light in the room and reflects the colourful pieces on the walls. The room was finally completed with a pinboard and coat hooks and by replacing the cot with a small bed.
