At the open home when they first laid eyes on their soon to be
new home, the French doors opening to a deck allowed the sun to
stream in and the existing colours in the children's bedroom held
a welcoming glow.
Once the house was purchased, their 14 year old daughter decided
that rusty brown and bright blue tones were not to her taste.
So the week before they moved in Dad, John, was up extension ladders
late in the night painting Emily's chosen combination of Resene
SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Christi and a custom matched
pink close to Resene Hopbush to match to the pink in the bed linen.

The end result is a riot in colour. Now that the furniture, curtains
and the teenager's own style of accessorising is added, it's finally
a space that is truly her own creation and one that she loves.
