The Berrymans have recently completed painting their home. The
house was originally painted Resene Dutch White with green trims
and roof. Being a large home located on a corner block it has
prominent street frontage, so choosing the correct colour scheme
was paramount.
Prior to painting the newer part of the home didn't appear to
blend well with the original part - some people thought it was
a separate dwelling. The Berryman's main objective was to give
their home a fresh modern look while blending new and old. Keeping
all the windows and trim the one colour didn't highlight the different
styles of architecture in the newer part of the home.
Seeking a completely individual colour scheme different from
neighbouring properties was a balancing act but many Resene testpots
later they opted for Resene Half Bison Hide on all eatherboards,
Resene Eighth Thorndon Cream on all windows/trims and Resene Grey
Friar for roof and doors. Resene Thorndon Cream provided warmth,
unlike stark white, while still providing a nice contrast against
the Resene Bison Hide. The colour scheme has transformed the entire
home and they have lost count of the number of enquiries they
have had about the colours used.
