Your Home and Garden Resene Inspiration Gallery

Clean slate
Julie and David took a nearly unliveable 1920s bungalow and completely gutted and transformed it in four months. The solid brick bungalow was very rundown and required extensive work to get it to its current state. All of the walls were professionally plastered making the job of painting easy.

This is the fourth home they have renovated over the last nine years, with this one guaranteed to be remembered for the very hard work, sweat and tears.

With a blank canvas of fresh plastered walls to work from, the uplifting interior scheme includes Resene Double Spanish White in the lounge, kitchen and hallway, a feature wall of Resene Lonestar in the dining room, Resene Botticelli in the bathroom complemented with white tiles and chrome accessories, a feature wall of Resene Fedora in the master bedroom combined with silver bedding, Resene Drover in the second bedroom with lilac organza blinds and bedding, and a feature wall of Resene Smoke Tree with cobalt blue curtains and bedding in the third bedroom.

Julie's tip for would be DIY'ers - "When choosing a colour, always paint two coats of the tester pot. Look at it on a sunny day and a dull cloudy day as it can appear very different."

With the interior finished, Julie and David are now working on the outside.
