Brush application
applies more shear than roller application. A wall brushed at the corners
and otherwise rolled can exhibit an effect called 'picture framing'
- a light area surrounded by a darker, brushed area. Similarly, spraying
generally applies more shear than brush or roller application so a paint
applied by spray may appear darker than brushed or rolled touch up areas.
To avoid picture framing run your roller as close to the edge as possible.
