How to paint a kitchen

Step 1Step one
Following manufacturer’s instructions, dilute the sugar soap into a bucket of clean warm water and stir. Wearing rubber gloves, wash any grease or residue from previously painted walls, woodwork and pegboard. Rinse with clean water and allow to dry.
Step 2Step two
Fill any holes with filler and allow to dry.
Step 3Step three
Lightly sand the filled holes and wipe off any sanding dust with a clean cloth.
Step 4Step four
Spot prime the filled holes with one coat of Resene Quick Dry and allow two hours to dry.
Step 5Step five
Cut in along the edges of the skirting boards and scotia, and around window and door frames with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom tinted to Resene Edgewater, as shown. Allow to dry for two hours.
Step 6Step six
Using a roller, paint the remainder of the wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom tinted to Resene Edgewater. Again, allow two hours for paint to dry. Repeat steps five and six, applying a second coat of colour.
Step 7Step seven
Paint the window frame, door, door frame, and skirting boards with two coats of Resene Enamacryl tinted to Resene Soft Mint, taking care when cutting in. Allow two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 8Step eight
Paint the pegboard and surrounding woodwork with two coats of Resene Enamacryl tinted to Resene Edgewater, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
