“Coming out of lockdown I felt like a butterfly breaking out of its cocoon. I put myself through a process of transformation much like butterflies undergo I metamorphosis in which they transform from an immature form to an adult form. Like the Poppy flower, there is life to be celebrated after death.

Though we chose Resene colours randomly, I believe this rich red tone chose me, to express the newfound passion and love I have for life post-lockdown.

The feminine hue of Poppy red can be described as romantic and deeply passionate. It evokes feelings of love, attraction, as well as the accompanying emotion of pain as lockdown taught me that there is no passion without pain. Upon this reflection, my design portrays a devilish women, who is just a playful creature looking for love.”
