Painted toy cart

Transform an old wooden toy cart into a colourful creation with a little bit of help from Resene.

Difficulty level: Challenging

You will need: Clean cloth, Old wooden cart, Paintbrushes, Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Bright Spark, Resene Howzat, Resene Rocket and Resene Sports Star, Resene Quick Dry, Sandpaper

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Black White.

Other ideas: For a high gloss finish, apply two coats of Resene Aquaclear gloss over the paintwork.

Step one
Lightly sand the wooden cart.

Step two
Wipe off any sanding dust with a clean cloth.

Step three
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the wooden cart and allow two hours to dry.

Step four
Paint the inside of the cart with two coats of Resene Bright Spark, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step five
Paint the outside of the cart with two coats of Resene Rocket, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step six
Paint the wheels and handle of the cart with two coats of Resene Sports Star, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step seven
Paint the top edges of the base of the cart with two coats of Resene Howzat, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step eight
Paint the top cross piece of the handle with two coats of Resene Howzat, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
