Metallic skateboard

Transform a humble skateboard into a metallic masterpiece with a little bit of help from Resene.

Resene Toys and Games with Mark Rayner - Project 16

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Clean cloth, Paintbrush, Resene Aquaclear gloss, Resene Quick Dry, Resene testpots of Resene Optimist and Resene Yeehaa, Resene testpot roller and tray, Sandpaper, Screwdriver, Skateboard

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen tinted to Resene Silver Chalice.

Other ideas: Paint red stripes on the skateboard using Resene Rocket and low tack masking tape.

Unscrew the wheels from the skateboard.
Step 2
Step two
Carefully remove any plastic transfers or covering.
Step 3

Sand the wood to remove any residue and wipe off any sanding dust with a clean cloth.
Step 4

Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the skateboard and allow two hours to dry.
Step 5
Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Optimist to the skateboard and allow two hours to dry.
Step 6
Step six
Apply two coats of Resene Yeehaa to the skateboard, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 7
Step seven
Apply three coats of Resene Aquaclear gloss to the skateboard, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 8
Step eight
Carefully reattach the wheels, taking care not to damage the paint.
