Dominoes

It’s easy to create this fabulous set of dominoes with a little bit of help from Resene.

Resene Toys and Games with Mark Rayner - Project 22

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: 1.5m of 25mm x 10mm dressed timber, Clean cloth, Paintbrushes (including an artists’ brush), Pencil, Resene Quick Dry, Resene testpots of Resene Designer White and Resene Gunmetal, Ruler, Sandpaper, Saw.

To get the look: Protect the natural beauty of wooden flooring with Resene Qristal ClearFloor.

Other ideas: Create traditional dominoes by painting each piece with Resene Black and the dots with Resene Alabaster.

Measure and mark a 50mm section of wood using the pencil and ruler, as shown. Cut with the saw.
Step 2

Repeat step 1 until you have 28 pieces of wood.
Step 3

Smooth the sawn edges with sandpaper and wipe off any sanding residue with a clean cloth.
Step 4

Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the wooden pieces and allow two hours to dry.
Step 5
Step five
Apply one coat of Resene Designer White to the wooden pieces and allow two hours to dry.
Step 6
Step six
Apply a second coat of Resene Designer White to the wooden pieces and allow two hours to dry.
Step 7
Step seven
Begin to mark dots on each piece using the artists’ brush and Resene Gunmetal.
Step 8
Step eight
Continue until you have all pieces marked from ‘double blank’ to ‘double six’, as shown. Allow paint to dry.
