Contemporary pot

Mark Rayner transforms a humble terracotta pot into a simple and elegant planter using a subtle combination of Resene colours and a shimmering pearlescent glaze.

You will need: Latex gloves, terracotta pot, paintbrush, paint roller, tray, paint stirrer, sponge, Phormium ‘Purple Haze’, potting mix, white pebble mulch, Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Barely There, Resene Concrete Clear, Resene Paint Effects Medium, Resene Pearl Shimmer waterborne pearlescent glaze, Resene Terracotta Sealer and a Resene testpot of Resene Whiteout.

To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene Lumbersider tinted to Resene Pale Prim.

Here's another idea: If you want a more dramatic contrast with the base coat, use a testpot of Resene Tuna mixed with the Resene Paint Effects Medium.
