Steve was asked to build The Dog Information Centre in Tirau. From there he has made thousands of pieces, from barbecuing cows to parachuting sausages. Some pieces, like the pukeko and kiwis in Otorohanga, are quite large, others are small pieces to decorate the back garden or man cave.
The artworks are made out of corrugated iron to make fun, colourful and interesting statements. Much of Steve’s inspiration comes from his wife.
While the creativity side of it is what people first notice and admire, most of Steve’s pieces are made to go outdoors so the longevity and engineering that goes into them is often more complex.
Steve finds Resene paints go on the iron better, giving a better cover, easier and faster. They also last longer. Steve enjoys using the Resene metallic range; in the sun it gives a real sparkle to the finished product.
