Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 107

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Masking tape, Paintbrushes (including a small artists’ brush), Pliers, Resene Art Action Quick Dry, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Nero and Resene Smitten, Two pieces of wire approx 30cm long, Wooden spoon

Top tip: If you don’t have any masking tape simply use ordinary sticky tape or parcel tape instead.

Here's another idea: This creepy Egyptian mummy puppet was made in the same way and decorated using Resene Alabaster, Resene All Black and Resene Pink Panther.

Step 1
Step one
Use the pliers to bend the pieces of wire to form the critter’s legs and fix to the wooden spoon with masking tape (you might need a grown-up to help with this bit). Continue to wind masking tape around the whole critter until it's completely covered.
Step 2
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Art Action Quick Dry to the critter, allowing two hours to dry.
Step 3
Step three
Apply two coats of Resene Smitten to the critter, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Paint in face details with Resene Alabaster and Resene Nero. Allow two hours to dry. How cool is that?
