Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 108

Difficulty level: Challenging

You will need: Paintbrushes (including small and medium artists’brushes), Paper maché puppy (ours came from ‘Spotlight’) Resene Art Action Quick Dry, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Dark Buff, and Resene Desperado

Top tip: If you don’t have a paper maché puppy simply make your own from newspaper and PVA glue.

Step one
Paint the puppy with one coat of Resene Art Action Quick Dry and allow to dry for two hours.

Step two
Paint the puppy with two coats of Resene Alabaster - make sure you allow two hours for each coat to dry.

Step three
Paint markings on the puppy’s head and body with two coats of Resene Dark Buff. Again, allow two hours for each coat to dry.

Step four
Paint markings on the puppy’s back and tail with two coats of Resene Nero. Once more, allow two hours for each coat to dry.

Step five
Paint eyes and mouth details with Resene Nero and Resene Desperado, as shown. Paint claw lines on each paw with Resene Nero. Allow to dry
