Resene art with Mark Rayner - Project 109
Difficulty level: Moderate
To get the look: Mark painted the background wall with Resene SpaceCote Flat tinted to Resene Midnight Express.
Other ideas: For a bold blue and orange combination, use Resene Bowie and Resene Adrenalin.
Step one
Apply one coat of Resene Quick Dry to the frame and MDF and allow to dry.
Step two
Apply one coat of Resene Broom to the frame and MDF and allow to dry.
Step three
Apply a second coat of Resene Broom and allow to dry.
Step four
Mask off the painting into a series of rectangular sections, as shown.
Step five
Paint the edges of alternate rectangular sections with Resene Broom and allow to dry – this will prevent the other colour from bleeding through.
Step six
Apply one coat of Resene Kingfisher Daisy to these same masked sections and allow to dry.
Step seven
Apply a second coat of Resene Kingfisher Daisy to these sections.
Step eight
While this coat of paint is still wet, carefully remove the masking tape and allow the paint to dry.
