Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 43

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Paintbrushes, Piece of cardboard, Piece of pipe cleaner, Polystyrene egg (ours came from 'Spotlight'), PVA glue Resene Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat, Resene Testpots in the following colours: Resene Alabaster, Resene Nero, Resene Spray and Resene Turbo, Scissors

Top tip: If you don't have a piece of pipe cleaner for the beak, use a triangular piece of cardboard instead.

Step 1

Use the cardboard and scissors to carefully cut out two wing shapes - you might need a grown up to help you with this bit.
Step 2

Cut two slots on each side of the egg and fix the wings into these slots with PVA glue - again you might need some help with this bit.

Paint whole bird with one coat of Resene Quick Dry, and once this is dry (about an hour) apply two coats of Resene Turbo to the whole bird allowing two hours for each coat to dry.
Step 4
Step four
Paint in the eyes and mouth with Resene Alabaster, Resene Nero and Resene Spray and form a beak from a small piece of pipe cleaner. Allow to dry before fixing to your wall with a big blob of blu-tack.
