Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 56

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Large photo or drawing of your cat, Paintbrushes (including an artists’ brush), Plain covered scrapbook (ours came from ‘Spotlight’), Resene Multishield+ gloss (now Resene Concrete Clear), Resene Quick Dry waterborne primer undercoat, Resene testpots in the following colours: Resene Hi Jinx, Resene Jacksons Purple and Resene Malibu

Top tip: Prevent damage to your photos by fixing them into your scrapbook with photo corners – these are available at most stationery shops.

Step one
Remove the front and back cover from the scrapbook.

Step two
Paint both sides of the front and back cover with one coat of Resene Quick Dry and allow to dry for one hour.

Step three
Paint both sides of the front and back cover with two coats of Resene Hi Jinx, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step four
Paint paw prints across the front cover with two coats of Resene Malibu, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step five
Paint ‘My Cat’ on the front cover with two coats of Resene Jacksons Purple, allowing two hours for each coat to dry.

Step six
Paint both sides of the front and back cover with one coat of Resene Multishield+ gloss (now Resene Concrete Clear) and allow two hours to dry. Fix the large picture or drawing of your cat behind the front cover ‘window’, then get scrapping!
