Turn a potato into a smiley face stamp and make this cool poster with a little bit of help from Resene.

Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 63

Difficulty level: Easy

You will need: Knife, Large piece of poster paper, Piece of kitchen towel, Plastic bowl, Potato, Resene testpots of Resene Alabaster and Resene Get Reddy, Stick for stirring

Top tip: Make sure you leave your poster to dry thoroughly before putting up on your wall - otherwise you might smudge the paint.

Step one
Carefully cut the potato in half - you might need a grown up to help with this bit.

Step two
Carefully cut a smiley face into the flat side of the potato – again, you might need a grown up to help. Pat the potato dry with a piece of kitchen paper.

Step three
Pour some Resene Get Reddy and Resene Alabaster into a plastic bowl and mix together slightly.

Step four
Dip the potato stamp into the partly mixed paint and remove the excess paint by lightly dragging along the edge of the bowl. Press the potato onto the poster paper and carefully lift off. Repeat until the paper is covered with smiley faces.
