Resene kids art with Mark Rayner - Project 80

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: Paintbrushes (including artists’ brush), Resene Terracotta Sealer, Resene Testpots of Resene Alabaster, Resene Endeavour, Resene Nero, Resene Niagara, Resene Pirate and Resene Wellywood, PVA glue, Two small terracotta pots

Top tip: This can also be used outdoors as a plant pot, but make sure you use exterior PVA glue.

Step one
Seal the inside and outside of the terracotta pots with one coat of Resene Terracotta Sealer and leave to dry for six hours.

Step two
Glue the bases of the two pots together, as shown, and leave for the glue to dry.

Step three
Paint the top pot with two coats of Resene Pirate and the bottom pot with two coats of Resene Niagara. Allow two hours for each coat to dry.

Step four
Paint a tie and teeth with Resene Wellywood and the eyes with Resene Alabaster.

Step five
Once dry, paint a collar, stripes and centre of the eye with Resene Endeavour. Paint dots on the ties with Resene Pirate. Allow to dry for two hours.
