Hot spot - IKEA
As anyone in retail will tell you, retail spaces need to always be changing, there should always be something new for customers to look at.
At IKEA, change is a proven technique to keep the stores ‘vital’ – to provide inspiration and smart solutions, create visual impact and of course, present the range to customers.
And key to this is the store entry – often creating a mood and feel for the store before the customer has even seen a product.
This small galley kitchen was positioned right inside the main door of IKEA Logan for almost six months, and proved so popular that the rug had to be repeatedly replaced from so much traffic. IKEA took a basic kitchen design and added Resene Shapeshifter (silvered blue) on the walls, adding drama and uniqueness, while still keeping to their style groups for continuity.
The kitchen has now been dismantled and donated to a Theodore resident whose own kitchen had been destroyed in the Queensland floods.
