Background to mural creation:
The mural is based on the school acronym ‘achieve’ and includes Eddie the school mascot. He delivers the ‘achieve’ focus each week at assembly. Each letter of ‘achieve’ stands for a different word – e.g. E is for Effort and the mural depicts the message striving to be the best we can be.

The children in the class all drew their ideas, then as a class they chose the best images to go onto the mural.

The koru pattern incorporates the word ‘achieve’ and is part of the mural to reflect the high proportion of Maori students at the school.
