Mural 1: Eruption – jungle theme.
Mural 2: Mythical Maori.

Background to mural creation:
The first mural was designed to create a different (non stereotypical of New Zealand) environment in the library that is thought provoking and surreal. Books take you many placed so the mural transports students to another creative place.

The second mural was created to depict an aspect of Maori culure. They took three Maori gods – wind – Tawhirimatea, sun – Ra and the god of the sea – Tangaroa - and depicted them in a waka. This mural is for the Kapanaka room.
