Background to mural creation:
Salford School is working with the Invercargill City Council and Environment Southland developing the Talbot Street Reserve. The mural was created to promote the reserve and showcase the expected wildlife and other inhabitants of the reserve, with senior students completing the large mural and junior students the tiles. Now finished, the mural not only proudly promotes the reserve but acts as a learning discussion board for students.
