Mural theme:
Four teams is the school named after islands in the Hauraki Gulf – Rakino, Rangitoto, Motuihe and Motutapu. Each bird is found on that island.
Background to mural creation:
The mural was created to represent the school teams. Each bird was a nice way to represent each island; Rangitoto – fantail, Rakino – tui, Motutapu – Takahe, Motuihe – kiwi. The street facing classroom was bare so has been brightened up with the beautiful birds.
