Mural theme:
Opoho School has a mascot in Terri the Tuatara, which also relates to the traditional story of how the area formed in Maori folklore. The Terri the tuatara also forms part of the inquiry process.

Background to mural creation:
Opoho School were invited to create a mural on the stadium panelled fence to beautify the area and to entice people to see the progress on the stadium. They had very creative year 6 students and this was seen as enrichment to supplement their arts programme.
