Distressed kitchen cupboard

Turn a humble kitchen cupboard into a fabulous feature with a little bit of help from Resene.

Fun with furniture with Mark Rayner - Project 34

Difficulty level: Moderate

You will need: an old kitchen cupboard, a bucket with warm water, clean cloths, paintbrushes, sandpaper, screwdriver and brass cupboard door handles. Resene Interior Paintwork Cleaner, Resene Waterborne Smooth Surface Sealer, Resene Lustacryl tinted to Resene Double Pearl Lusta, Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom tinted to Resene Alabaster and two testpots of Resene Dingley.

To get the look: Mark also painted the surrounding wall with Resene SpaceCote Low Sheen Kitchen & Bathroom tinted to Resene Alabaster.

Other ideas: For a bolder distressed look apply one coat of Resene Crackle effect over a two coat base of Resene Pohutukawa with one topcoat of Resene Rich Cream.
