For large rooms, or simply as a striking feature, this unique two-toned look is a great way to add structure.
Here, the use of the inviting and warm Resene Tablelands at one end of the space seems to anchor the matching toned chair to create a snug and cosy corner. The tidemark of darker colour carries down the wall and along the floor for extra drama, and could be taken across the ceiling too. Here the proportions are kept to a one-third, two-thirds ratio which is more interesting than a half-half approach. Cleverly carrying that boundary through the shelves painted in the same two colours, catches the eye and cements the effect.
On the contrasting lighter side, the wall, tables and tall vase are all painted in the fleecy beige of Resene Eighth Stonewashed while a sheepskin echoes the darker colour on the opposite side.
