Tone on tone

Dark wine coloured walls and swirly pink carpet were the features of this house when the McArthurs moved in. It was clearly time for a makeover!! They used Resene Albescent White on the ceiling and Resene Double Tea on the walls for the kitchen, dining and living areas and were amazed at how spacious it made the areas feel and how well these colours complemented the rimu floor and the new chocolate coloured carpet.

Resene Half Tea and Resene Albescent White turned a very dark hallway into a much lighter area and it looks fantastic with a Resene Wasabi coloured feature wall next to the entrance way. Resene Half Tea has also enabled their teenage son to have walls in his bedroom that he can decorate with wallstickers/decals from Resene and change whenever he wants. Their teenage daughter chose Resene Valhalla and Resene Quarter Timeout for her room following the colours of a treasured painting her grandfather gave her. Finally they painted the master bedroom in soft (but not too feminine!) Resene Ziggurat, Resene Tea and Resene Albescent White. Mixing 'tone on tone' from the Resene Tea colour range throughout the house, with splashes of strong colour in defined areas, has given this 70s home a contemporary look and feel that suits the needs of every family member.
