Complete makeover
The ceilings were painted with Resene Ceiling Flat, which gave an awesome finish to the old ornate ceiling details. The walls were painted in Resene Zylone Sheen tinted to Resene Surrender complemented by a feature wall in Resene wallpaper Akoya. After sanding back the rimu floors they were finished in Resene high gloss polyurethane. The result was fantastic with the rich red of the native timber with the thick gloss polyurethane. For a feature in their son's room they used Resene Magnetic Magic to create a large magnetic wall. To complete the look, the roman blinds in the living area were finished in the fabric Resene Beyond Flame and silver toned Resene Beyond in the master bedroom, both complementing the Resene Surrender on the walls. They are now starting an extension at the back so the project continues.

The Povey family have undertaken major renovations on their 1939 Spanish bungalow. After completely stripping it back to a bare carcass and rebuilding the inside, they finished it with a lot of Resene products as they found they best reflected the fashion and gave the house the modern day core that they were after. They are also still accompanied by the old rimu trim that they uncovered from the years of painting.
