Colour with patience

Kim says it's been an exciting journey involving 'almost everyone' (Resene Colour Consultant and shop assistants,painters, scaffolders, builder, parents, neighbours, overseas partner and of course the internet) and they're 'thrilled" with the end result!

From the initial investigations at Napier's Art Deco Weekend the project spanned 18 months.This time was taken doing research and testing of multiple colour schemes - the orange garage door and brown walls never made it through the neighbour test! Kim never knew there were so many shades of white!

After many tests the final colour scheme of Resene Buttery White on walls, Resene Deco on trims, Resene Triple Napa on the deck and shed, Resene Grey Friars on the roof and side of the patio and Resene Grasslands was decided on. The colour scheme was chosen to complement the surrounding houses and be in keeping with the Art Deco heritage and status of the property (as described in the book 'Karori and its people' written by the Karori Historical Society 2011).

Kim says choosing Resene was an easy decision to make, the quality, colour selection, accessibility (the Resene shop is just round the corner and the internet site is helpful and customer friendly) and the advice from the experts all culminated in Resene being her number 1 choice. The results speak for themselves, and just as importantly the neighbours seem to agree!
