Room by room

Nicola has owned for home three years and has been slowing chipping away room by room painting out the beige walls. She didn't mind this colour at first but it was doing nothing for her accessories and furniture.

The lounge, kitchen and dining are very open plan and light so she could afford to go a darker colour on the walls. The lounge she painted in Resene Fuscous Grey on one wall and Resene Athens Grey on the other wall that leads into the open plan kitchen, which is also in Resene Athens Grey. The windows and skirting are all in Resene Alabaster.

Her daughter's room is finished in Resene Black White with window trim and joinery in Resene Alabaster. Nicola designed the feature wall herself using tape to mark out the chevron pattern before painting it in Resene Claret, Resene Hullabaloo and Resene Turbo. She wanted to create something fun, bold and colourful without being overly girly.

When Nicola has an idea she runs with it and has to do it straight away. She did her daughter's room in two days and the lounge in three days including all prepping and painting.

Now she is looking forward to starting the next room in the house.
