It all started with an idea. Ruth was growing up and knew it was time to create a whole new room for herself. That didn’t mean tearing down the walls; it meant repainting and redecorating her room.
After looking at flyers and searching the web, she decided to go with a blue and white themed room. Two days later it was complete!
Before Ruth finalised the shade of blue and white, she tested three colours on nine corkboards – Resene Pelorous, Resene Morning Glory and Resene Fountain Blue. She made a noticeboard out of it to feature in her room. That way, the paint and Ruth’s time went to good use.
Once the painting was done it was time to shop for the decorations. Ruth and her Mum looked at four shops and discovered some beautiful objects that suited the room perfectly and were affordable. They bought a white chair, jewellery hanger, blue mirror, two yellow cushions, one blue cushion and four white letters that made up Ruth’s name.
Once the furniture and decorations were all put in place, the room was just right. The two yellow cushions and homemade lampshade were placed on the blue side of the room to break through the blue.
Thanks to Ruth and her mum who supplied the paint, provided guidance through the process, made the lampshade out of paper and helped with the painting.
