The owl bedroom

Known affectionately as ‘The Owl Bedroom’, this room was designed and planned using furniture that was already owned. All the soft furnishings have been handmade.

The room is intended to be a unisex children's bedroom for grandchildren, who are all under 4 years old. Shaun deliberately did not want it to be too girly or boyish so any of their grandchildren would feel at home.

The starting point for the decorating ideas came from the bed covers, which have a tiny dark red pattern on them and were bought in the UK. Shaun picked Resene Pohutukawa as it was a perfect match and teamed it with Resene Quarter Milk White and roman blinds using 'Top of The World'.
